One Line Good, Two Lines Bad...

It's a sign! A sign of a terrible few weeks!

C19. The 'Rona. Sniphilis. Call it what you will, but this year's covid 19 strain is a virus very much trying to stay relevant with a raging sore throat, choking mucus, and extreme fatigue that lasts for weeks. Becasue of this, I've been somewhat necessarily quiet while I recover. Trust me to land a dose just before I was due for my yearly jab.

So, here's a brief catch-up. We had a great evening at the lovely Derby EMOM in late October, as livestreamed here. Lee Gratorex has branched out from streaming the Derby EMOM to take in other events, the frist of which was the October Electric Tentacle in Stoke. This is a really good development, bringing the evenings to a wider audience. It's like the scene has its own live TV show!

Next up for us was the inaurgural Wrexham EMOM, hosted at the Ty Pawb arts centre. This is an excellent venue. The audience was the public, and was very much up for hearing some new stuff. Everyone had a great time and the acts received a warm welcome. There's a bar, coffee and snacks, and quite a strange picture of Ryan Reynolds in a, er, "relaxed" pose. Afterwards, organiser Melier Tomos declared that he'll try to stage an event every month. I do hope this comes to pass, because it really is a good event.

It was a couple of days later that I began to notice an advancing sore throat. Our gig at The Ferret in Preston was quickly cancelled and quarantine ensued for the requisite period of sneezing, coughing, sleeping and shivering.

A week later, and testing negative, it was time to make the pilgramage up to Todmorden for Dave Walker's excellent evening. As usual, we had a great time, and some girls even danced to our racket, but the covid fatigue was causing me concern about the safety of the homeward trip, and so 9:45 saw us saying our goodbyes.

And so the recovery continues. This Saturday afternoon sees us play a 30 minute set at Quarry (17 Love Lane) in Liverpool as part of the latest Moolakii Club Audio Interface event. This is a ticketed event costing £7 on the door, but clicking the link enables you to buy tickets for an advanced price of £3.

Moolakii Club Audio Interface. All the cool kids are going.

Also in the lineup is Loup Garou serving up his live DnB finger drumming (a mesmerising sight), The Cottage Children with their dark and sinister ambient soundscapes, Sword Swinging Robot's infections acid-infused beats, VX/Hope with a noisecore sonic assault, The Metamorph's ambient sci fi stylings, and to top it all off, Brighton's very own Novablood! Doors open at 12 midday, with the first act (us!) on at 12:45.
